Santa Claus is coming to town!
I saw this mantle decor piece for sale at Terrys Village(Here) and fell in love. I used the photo to trace into my Silhouette software to come up with this. It's a pretty intricate cut but it did really well. The moon is just a circle of cream cardstock and the blue background is embossed with the Swiss Dots folder. I'll probably add a sentiment later depending on who I send it to.
White Poinsettia
For this card, I combined three other cards I had seen on the web for ideas. I found a line drawing of the poinsettia and made a cut file. I added some veins with my scorer. The leaves were from a photo of a poinsettia leaf that I converted into a silhouette and the yellow are just dots. I embossed the top and bottom with the same folder and added a few score lines. As usual, I have no sentiment stamps so I just printed it.

Merry Kissmas
This one I fell in love with and the shape is from the Silhouette store and the idea is from their blog. I rarely buy any shapes, but I really love this one. I haven't put a sentiment on it yet....not sure if I will.

Congratulations onYour New Home
This card was for my cousin's new, gorgeous, house! I found some colonial silhouettes and recreated them n my Silhouette machine. The sentiment is from the Silhouette store. The only dimensionals used was on the sentiment banner and brads. The photo doesn't represent the actual color as the motif was black cardstock, but it is close.

Happy Birthday Fisherman
Today's card is for a coworker of my husband's birthday. My husband works at a fishmonger/restaurant and the cowrker in question is a HUGE fisherman out on the lagoon. I wanted to do a Mahi Mahi card (since they are very colorful and plentiful around these waters) but he catches mostly redfish n the lagoon so I went with that. I made a couple of medallions for the sentiment one of which I covered in embossing ink then silver embossing powder to get the look of takle. I used metallic thread to look like the line and hook. Lastly, I dry embossed the background with D'vine swirls folder from cuttlebug.

Get Well Soon
I had great plans for this card but I am still disappointed. Mainly because I ran out of craft tape and had to use a glue stick. It bubbled the paper and in order to get it to lay flat, I flattened out the embossing :(. Also, for those of you with a Silhouette, I often color in my shapes so I can tell them apart. Of course it doesn't matter when you're just cutting out, but it does when you print and cut. The paper was a much sunnier, paler yellow than this but it printed the yellow color that i didn't really select with any care because I wasn't planning on it printing. I figured I need to show my failures as well as my successes...so here it goes.

Thanks
These two cards were made by request for my husband's coworker. Unfortunately, the specs were pretty much non existent. I wasn't even sure what the thanks was for other than it wasn't a wedding or shower, the recipients are hillbillies, and nothing feminine. So, this is what I came up with. Virtually identical but the strip of cardstock. The only ribbon I have is rather feminine or holiday specific so that was an ix-nay on ribbon. i didn't use any dimentionals since they're being mailed. The only added touch was the brads.

Christmas in July
So my mom and I were making cards the other day and decided if we make a few Christmas cards each month, there won't be that last minute rush right before the holidays to crank out 50 cards. This one was from the very first file i actually purchased from Silhouette, lol. When I bought the machine, I was given a $10 credit to the online store. I still have a $9.01 credit :D. I have pinned nearly a dozen cards using the Martha Stewart medium branch punch....which I do not own. I duplicated the punch on the Silhouette and mashed a few of the ideas together. The door knob is just a gold brad.
Happy Fall Y'all
So the weather has been awful (like everywhere else). 90 degrees during the day, high humidity and an air conditioner that just can't keep up. Cruising around pinterest makes me just crave fall which we don't get in Florida anyway, but still makes me dream of pumpkin pie, cinnamon and cooler evenings. I have seen a million of these punch pumpkins but since i don't have an oval punch, I just used the silhouette. I used my cuttlebug embossing folder from the cooking set for the main background. In retrospect, I should have just printed a sentiment since I am not fond of the placement of this one and was unable to fix it.
Just Bee-Cause
This is another card I made for a friend using the Bird's Cards mix and match free digital cut file. I added a brad for a tiny bit of bling.
Thank You
This is just a thank you card for my mother-in-law that I made using a free silhouette cut file from Bird's Cards mix and match collection. This was just made with some scrap ribbon.

Father's Day from the cats
So my husband and I don't have any human children, but when we got married he adopted my litte kitty as his own (and he's horribly allergic). We got another kitten 3 years ago and he is honestly the greatest pet dad ever. He spoils them rotten with nightly offering of Fancy Feast and play time. I saw a card online with a reclined made from punches. I don't really have any punches, so I tried to duplicate it on my silhouette. The kitties I found as clip art and just used the silhouettes to cut from.

Welcome Home
This is another one of those posts I am hoping my mother doesn't see yet, lol. My folks get back to Florida in 2 weeks and i decided to make a little welcome home card. I found a few pictures of windows and shutters online and turned them into Silhouette cut files. I would love to give credit for the artwork, but I do not know who to credit. The tote is a sticker and the font is "Before the Rain" that I got from DaFonts.
Home arts card
First off, let me start by saying how much I LOVE Susan Branch's work. I am a huge admirer of hers and mean no disrespect by using her artwork on a card. This is for personal use only and I would never try to gain from or sell her work as my own, EVER! This is a little appreciation card for my Mom (I hope she isn't reading this). I have had to take care of my grandmother for the past couple of months while my parent's are out of town. We've done it for the past few years, but this year....let's just say she has gotten very demanding. My mother waits on her hand and foot and she's gotten a bit used to it. Add to the fact that she has early Alzheimer's and she is mean anyway and, well, you get the picture. I just wanted to give a little heads up to let her know that while I complain about having to do it, I know how much effort she puts in caring for Nana and how much of her own retirement time she is sacrificing.

Coffee Gift Card holder
I've seen tons of different versions of this card, so I kind of winged it and made a template on the Silhouette. I was thinking it can be altered to hold a tea bag or packet of hot cocoa for stocking stuffers as well. I chose the embossing folder due to living here in Florida, I like to come up with some more realistic versions of Christmas themes better suited to the tropics :D.
Season's Greetings warm cabin
For this card, I used the free template from here :JJ Bolton Handmade Cards, played around with it a little in my Silhouette so I could make it a 3 layer 3 dimensional card. The background is just some blue cardstock embossed in D'Vine Swirls.

A little Crabby
I have been really grumpy lately between work and taking care of my very unpleasant, 86 year old grandmother while my folks are out of town for a few months. Anyway, like a small child I take my aggravation out on the one I love the most, my poor husband. I love him with all my heart and have absolutely no idea how he puts up with me. This card, an elaborate dinner and an apology is all I have at the moment to show him I really do know that I have been a grumpy bear the last few weeks.

Tiki Turtle
I found this free cut file at Bird House Stamps . I thought it looked a bit like waves washing up on the beach. I have this stamp from my Fiskars "Island Fun" cling stamp set. I'm not sure I'm happy with the colors and as busy as it is, it still looks like it's missing something to me. Ah well, I do like the frame.
Olive Juice
I LOVE MY SILHOUETTE PORTRAIT! OK, now that I got that out of my system, I got a terrific sale on some Cuttlebug folders directly from Provocraft last month. The 4 folder "Coolio" set cost only $1.99 :D. I've been dying to use the folders. I found a pic of a martini online, uploaded it and played with it a bit to make my little martini and the "Juice" font that comes on all microsoft computers. That was a pretty intricate cut, too. Overall, I am pretty happy with the card

Allons-y!
So, last Christmas my husband and i were unable to exchange the gifts we wanted to. Due to a good month (and having 3 paychecks this month :D) we were finally able to exchange our gifts. Hubby got his PS3 and I...I got my Silhouette Portrait!! I cannot believe it! I installed the software over a year ago and now I finally have it :D (Happy Dance.) So this is a card for my hubby. I found a random pic of the Tardis , imported it and cut it out on the Silhouette. the background is embossed with one of the cards from the "Coolio" collection.

There's no business like Snow Business...
OK, early for Christmas cards, but I figured I'd do a few every couple weeks just so there's no last minute panic in December. I used my new Inkadinkado Christmas Character stamp set, Snowman. Stamped and heat embossed and colored him in with some pencils. After cutting out the circle, I then heat embossed the edges. I used some scrap cardstock for the background and embossed with swirls.
Happy Birthday
I made this card for a random birthday. I actually started the card a month ago, but didn't like where it was going so I stopped. I finally found the perfect motif for the center. The top is basic white card stock embossed with the Happy Birthday folder for the cuttlebug and the bottom is red cardstock with the swirl frame. I used some ribbon to separate the two sections and found the cake on my Hallmark card program. I used the nestabilities circle die to cut it out and a dimensional circle to make it pop a bit

Congratulations!
I made this card to congratulate my niece on choosing a college. She had her choice of colleges, so a "Congrats on your acceptance" wasn't really applicable. I used some scraps and I downloaded and printed the school logo to use on the pendant. I used the script embossing folder for the main card and some silver cord I had from a previous project. I heat embossed the edges of the sentiment for a little extra sparkle.

Ice Cream time!
My friend just had a tonsillectomy and this was the Get Well card I chose to make. I found a line drawing of an ice cream cone on google and used it for a pattern. I am horrible at tracing/cutting, but I gave it a shot. I really, really like how the sugar cone turned out. I just used my score pad and scored lines every 1/8". I embossed the ice cream with the D'Vine swirls folder. The chevron paper was from Colorbok Hopscotch double-sided premium paper and I just cut out a square and scored a small frame.
I have mentioned (at least on my old blog ) that my handwriting is horrible and I don't have many sentiment stamps, so I used my Hallmark greeting card program to print the sentiments on plain paper. I taped the front sentiment to a scrap pice of cardstock and ran it through the cuttlebug with a small circle nestabilities die.
