Merry and Bright

Not real sure how I feel about this one.  In general, I like it, but I think I should have done this on white cardstock instead.  I think the colors would be much more vibrant.  Also, because I decided to do a simple, one-layer card, I screwed up the sentiment stamp.  Of course, that was AFTER I had stamped and colored all the lights and put the Glossy Accents on.  I know, I know...what a moron. I stamped on a blank sheet of Kraft paper and cut it out just horribly,  Ah well. I'll do this one again but cleaned up on white cardstock

Anyway, the lights are from the WPlus9 - Festive Greetings and the sentiment is from Inky Antics - Christmas Sentiments.

Halloween Balloons

Are these not the cutest stamps? These are Best Halloween - Clearly Besotted stamps.  I was loving the paper which is from Summertime Designs. I (badly) colored in the stamps with my Spectrum Noir pens...at least the candy corn balloons because my oranges bled.  I got some thread from the Dollar Tree a few months ago and used those for the balloon strings.  I just love this because it's just so darn cute :D

Jump for Joy

I absolutely LOVE this stamp set. It is Jump for Joy from Lawn Fawn.  I was feeling in a very autumn mood today and since we have a distinctive lack of fall leaves in Florida, I had to make them myself.  I don't have the dies, so my lack of ability to fussy cut is on full display here.  I colored them in with my Spectrum Noir markers, accented the acorn with Glossy Accents and the background paper is from Summertime Designs.  I put a few tiny gems for their eyes just because.  Enjoy :D

Hurricane Thank You card

Long story short, we had to mandatory evacuate from the island for hurricane Matthew and a friend of the family allowed us to stay in his vacation home on the mainland.  When I say vacation home, it conjures up images of a little cottage or condo.  This house is GORGEOUS!  Instead of a lifeboat, we stayed in a luxury cruise liner.  Our house didn't have any significant damage outside of some large limbs down, but our electricity was out for 3 days and we weren't allowed back across the causeways for 2.  We ended up spending all three days in his home which only lost power for a total of 3 minutes.  It was just incredibly generous of them to help us out because it was a 90 year old woman, my parents and my husband and I and 3 cats.  Finding hotel rooms at that time was near impossible and my grandmother wouldn't do well if we had to drive for 8 hours.

Anyway, there was nothing out there stampwise or sentiment wise for our particular situation so I made it up as I went along.  I fell in love with this card and while I will be doing something with the stamp set later today, this is the technique I used to make the spinner card: Kelly Marie Alvarez - Jump For Joy Card. I do not own the slide cuts die, so I kind of duplicated the idea in my Silhouette.  I found a random map and traced it in Silhouette and filled it with the Palm pattern from Summertime Designs (she no longer maintains a page).  I found a picture of a hurricane and traced it as well.  This was a fun card to make and I highly recommend heading over to see the technique used.

Maybe Christmas Doesn't Come From a Store

I thought this was a cute stamp combo.  The girl and gifts are from the 'Jingle all the way" stamp set from MFT and the sentiment from Inky Antics Christmas Sentiments set.  Colored in with my Spectrum Noir markers and stitched off with a gel pen.

Halloween Magic

I like this card, but not thrilled with my coloring job.  I do like the Spectrum Noir pens, but I have a tendency to make the darker colors bleed all over my cardstock.  Anyway, complaints aside, this is a stamp from Stampendous called "Halloween Magic".  I really like it though it's larger than the ones I normally use.  This gave me a great opportunity to use my clockworks Cuttlebug embossing folder.  I think this looks a bit steampunk-y.  I also used some Glossy Accents over the mask, eyes and gear on her hat.  I had some glitter I used and one star sequin I placed with some more G/A.  I also used a few gems from the DCWV gem stickers pack just to give it more pop.  The sentiment stamp is from the Inkadinkado "All Hallows Eve" stamp set and I embossed it in white.

Reindeer Sketch

So, I wanted to do a card with my sketch pens from Silhouette and chose this sketch from the Silhouette store that I had gotten for free. (Side note if you don't have a Silhouette, they have a free pattern every Tuesday in their online store).  I loaded a piece of kraft cardstock in my Silhouette and used the sketch feature.  Took less than 30 seconds and I love how crisp it turned out.  I then masked off the sides with masking tape and distressed the inside.  I then stamped the greeting from my Inkadinkado 'Christmas Characters' stamp set.  Then I embossed it in white.  I am a moron.  I hadn't let the distress ink dry first.  It looked ok, but not really so I stamped on a piece of scrap, black, cardstock, embossed it and cut it out with some decorative scissors.  I put it on with a dimensional sticker.  I found some embellishments at the Dollar Tree a few weeks ago and used one for his nose as well as some baker's twine, also from the Dollar Tree.  Overall, very pleased with this one.

Trick or Treat

Love this card if I do say so myself.  This is one of my favorite stamp sets, too. The Stamps are from Inkadinkado 'All Hallows Eve'.  I stamped the web and spider onto some Colorbok 'Boardwalk' paper and embossed it with some plain, black embossing powder.  I layered it onto a small mat from the 'old world' mat stack from Premium stacks and used the excess as the bar.  I just swiped the edges of the papers with some black marker so there would be no white edges.  The sentiment was cut from the same mat stack on my silhouette, edges distressed and stamped with the sentiment from the same stamp set then embossed as well.  The spider head and three dots were from th DCWV gem stickers pack.

5 cent Potions

I love everything about this with the exception of the ink I used for the stamping. I don't have any 'Wink of Stella', yet so I used a cheap glitter glue pen.  The ink I used was Studio G.  The ink may have been great and maybe I didn't let it dry all the way, but it smeared and smudged both when I distressed the edges of the potions tag and when I colored and glittered the main stamped image.  Annoying, but I will know better next time.  The stamp is from the Friendship Jar and Friendship Jar Fall Fillers by Papertrey Ink.  The papers were free digipapers from Scrap.DOT.  I distressed the edges with my favorite Distress Ink, Archival Photo and I colored in the image with Spectrum Noir alcohol markers.  The eyeballs were from a bag of eyes from the dollar store.
